DWYER, John J. (Jack), Jr.

John J. Dwyer, Jr. (Jack), 58, born December 18, 1943 in Buffalo, New York and passed away peacefully in his sleep from complications of diabetes on December 6, 2002. Jack was graduated from Brophy College Preparatory in 1961 and married the only girl he ever loved, Kathleen Miller Dwyer in 1966. Jack had a tremendously successful and varied career in a variety of industries. He was the Top Salesman for the entire IBM Company 1969-1971, and held many management positions and won many sales awards during his 13-year career with IBM. Jack also ran a small Caribbean airline during the early 1980's. He returned to the Valley in 1985 and worked at Ward & Associates for the remainder of his career. Jack considered when he met the Pope in Rome in 1989 as the highlight of his life. He loved to travel and was incredibly proud of his Irish heritage. He enjoyed playing golf and was an avid sports fan. He volunteered his time serving meals at St.Vincent de Paul and made numerous donations to charitable programs at Brophy. He is survived by his former wife, Katie Dwyer, 2 beautiful and well- loved daughters Eileen Dwyer Hoke (Bethesda, MD) and Maureen Dwyer Lytle (San Diego, CA), and their husbands, Kevin Hoke and Doug Lytle, by his 3 loving sisters: Mary Dwyer Haines (Las Vegas, NV), Brigid Dwyer Hannon (Phoenix, AZ), Katie Dwyer Yost (Scottsdale, AZ), his little brother, Timmy Dwyer (Scottsdale, AZ), and his late brother Danny's wife Pat Dwyer. 12 nieces and nephews also survive him. He is survived by his great good friend and caretaker, Joann Carlson. He was predeceased by his mother Alice Dwyer and father John Dwyer and his brother Danny Dwyer. Jack was the best salesman anyone knew and was hilariously funny. He will be terribly missed. Funeral services are today, Monday, December 9, at 3:30 pm at Brophy Chapel at Central & Highland.
