DEMARIO, Angelo


Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, AZ Wednesday, Apr 28th, 2010 Angelo DeMario, a former resident of the Globe-Miami area, passed away at the age of 83 on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 in San Francisco, where he had lived for more than 60 years. Mr. DeMario, known as Eno or Ino to many of his family and friends, was born on March 20, 1927 in Globe. He attended schools in Miami and was graduated from Miami High School in May 1944. Mr. DeMario worked as a civilian employee of the Army Air Corps and then served his country in the United States Navy from 1945 to 1946. Following his Navy service, he joined the general construction firm of Pearson & Johnson in San Francisco. Subsequently, he became the owner of that firm. He served on the Board of Directors of the YMCA of San Francisco. Following his retirement, he enjoyed golfing and keeping in touch with his family and friends. Mr. DeMario was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Norma Toschi DeMario, on Nov. 1, 2008; his parents, Angelo and Enrichetta Di Mario, who homesteaded the Di Mario Ranch in Russell Gulch; his sisters Santina Deiro, Arizona Cubitto, Quinta Hart and Carolina Di Mario; his brothers Mario DeMario, Philip DeMario, Emmett DeMario and Angelo (Bebo) Di Mario; his niece Marilyn DeMario Dodson; and his nephew Michael Deiro Jr. (The family name Di Mario was anglicized to DeMario.) He is survived by his sister Mary Hearne of Falls Church, Virginia; his nieces Phyllis Hearne West of Long Beach, Calif., Vicki Hart Bergman of Clarkdale, Penny Gier of San Mateo, Calif., Gloria Bolger of Redwood City, Calif., Yvonne Treacy of Houston, Texas and Jeanie Bertrand of San Francisco, Calif.; his nephews Dan DeMario of San Tan Valley, Charles Hearne of Arlington, Virginia, Robert Cubitto of Cademario, Switzerland, Lewis "Bud" Hart, Jr. of Phoenix, Philip DeMario, Jr. of Globe, Tim DeMario of Globe, Donald Toschi of Kauai, Hawaii and Tom Toschi of Belmont, Calif.; and his great-nephew Tim Sullivan of San Rafael, Calif. Funeral arrangements are being handled by The Evergreen Mortuary, McAvoy O'Hara Company, 4545 Geary Boulevard, San Francisco, CA 94118. Funeral services were held on April 26 at The Evergreen Mortuary Chapel, and Mr. DeMario was laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma, Calif.
