RODINA, Donald Charles


The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ September 27, 2000, p. A7 Donald Charles Rodina of Taunton, Minn. and a former winter visitor to Wickenburg, died Sept. 18 in Taunton. He was 60. Mr. Rodina was born Jan. 8, 1940 in Fairmont, Minn. His parents were Charles and Elsie (Kempke) Rodina. After finishing his education at Jackson (Minn.) High School, he farmed on the family farm outside of Jackson until 1988. At that time he retired and was able to continue his passion for prospecting. For many years he traveled the Southwest prospecting and enjoying the beauty of the Sonoran Desert near Wickenburg. He also spent years prospecting in the Black Hills, Alaska, and California. In the course of his life he raised three children, for who he nurtured numerous interests and dreams. He married Deanna Alleckson his wife at the time of his passing, in March 1998. He is survived by his wife, Deanna Rodina; sons Daniel Rodina and Marc Rodina, a former Wickenburg resident and graduate of Wickenburg High School; daughter Janet Rodina; sister Peggy Rodina; grandson Brady Rodina; and step-grandsons Adam Longtin; and Travis Longtin. Services have been held.
