The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ November 1, 2000, p. A16 Monica Peloquin of Manville, Mass. and formerly a longtime resident of the Wickenburg/Congress area, died Oct. 28 in Manville. She was 84. Mrs. Peloquin was born Aug. 28, 1916 in Worcester, Mass., the daughter of the late John and Annie (Brown) Wallace. She was educated Attleboro (Mass.) schools and a graduate of Attleboro High School, Class of 1935. She graduated as a registered nurse from the Study Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1938. During World War II, Mrs. Peloquin was a Ist Lieutenant in the U. S. Army Nurse Corps and was in one of the first nurses’ groups to land in Normandy shortly after the D-Day invasion fo Europe in 1944. She received the WWII Victory medal. Following the war she graduated from Boston University with a degree in physical therapy. She later became head of the Physical Therapy Department at Study Memorial Hospital, and after that, was head of the Physical Therapy Department at Veterans Hospital, Providence, R.I. She retired in 1981 from Wrentham State School as head of the Nursing Education Department. Mrs. Peloquin, resided in Attleboro and Plainville most of her life, moving to Congress, Ariz. with her late husband when she retired. She returned to Massachusetts due to illness in 1995. She was a member of the American legion of Arizona and volunteered at many senior programs in Arizona. Survivors include two sons, Robert A. Peloquin of Norton, Mass. and John W. Peloquin of North Smithfield, Mass.; five daughters, Kathleen E. Zuefle of Sloansville, N.Y., Brenda M. Krawchuk of South Attleboro, Carol A. Davis of Warren, R.I., Sandra A Hunnicutt-Ludlam of Norton, and Robin a Abdulla of North Attleboro; a brother, John A. Wallace of Attleboro; 16 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service with full military honors will be held Tuesday, No. 2 in the V. A. National Cemetery of Massachusetts, in Bourne, Mass.
