WELLS, Jack Gene


The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ December 13, 2000, p. A8 Jack Gene Wells of Buckeye, died Dec. 8 in Phoenix. He was 81. Mr. Wells was born Sept. 16, 1919 in Mansfield, Wash. He was a wheat and cattle rancher for 60 years. He and his wife, Toots, were snowbirds, living in Arizona for six months, and Washington for six months. Mr. Wells was an avid steer roper and won many saddles, trophies and other honors in his 70 years of roping. He was one of the first PRCA members and a Gold Card member. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Toots Wells, of Buckeye; two sons, Zeke and Melvin Wells of Bridgeport, Wash.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters; and numerous nephews and nieces. Services and burial will be in Brewster, Wash.
