The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 09/21/2004 David Allen Boles, 60, died Sept. 6, 2004 at his home in Show Low. He was born Sept. 6 1944 in Elmira, New York, to Dorothy Mae (Lynch) Boles and Hubert Allen Boles, who preceded him in death. David graduated from Sarasota High School, Sarasota, Florida. He graduated with Honors from Otterbein College in Columbus, Ohio, majoring in math and physics with a teaching degree in 1966. He married Marsha Napka (Zitzelberger) in 1966 and they divorced in 1978 but remained close friends. He taught math and physics at Oberlin High School, Obelin, Ohio, and math at Blue Ridge High School and Jr. High. He also taught at NPC. He loved teaching and his students and encouraged them to go to college. In younger years he wrote several science fiction short stories and liked reading science fiction and Star Trek. He loved camping, astronomy, science, ham radio and CB's, TV repair and computers. He liked to play games but preferred to win! He loved dominoes and cherry pie. He played tenor sax and liked to play in dance bands and orchestras. He was a member of the White Mountain United Methodist Church and sang with the choir. He also was a member of the White Mountain Chorale and Rejoice group. He liked movies and TV, especially old shows. He loved his family and friends and helped many people over the last 10 years who needed him. He especially loved being a new grandfather and was so proud of his Christy. He will be missed by those whose lives he touched. David is survived by one daughter, Christy L. Boles of Lake Helen, Florida; one granddaughter, Andi Elizabeth; sisters, Gwen (Boles) Ladd of Flat Rock, Ohio, Diantha (Boles) and Jon Palm of Lorain, Ohio, Becky (Boles) and Brad Claypool of Lorain, Ohio; brothers, H. Keith Boles of Flat Rock, Ohio and Jonathan L. and Cindy Boles of Zepherhills, Florida; aunts and uncles, Jeanne and Ollie Fonton of Lutz, Florida, Morrie and Carol Boles of Olympia, Washington; and his best friends, Everett and Judy Peterson of Lakeside, and Richard and Pat Stanton of Show Low.
