BACHTEL, Roy E.

Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona February 8, 1973 Roy E. Bachtel – Wickenburg was saddened at the loss of Roy E. Bachtel February 1. Mr. Bachtel was a 6th grade teacher at the Garcia Elementary School where he had taught since 1959. He was 57 years old. Mr. Bachtel was a graduate of Wesleyan College in West Virginia. He was a member of the Benzene Club, Beaver Club, Alpha Kappa Pi and was always active in sports. He played both college and professional football. He was a Little League Coach during summer months here. He is survived by his wife Evelyn; four sons, Joe of Wickenburg, Charles of Longview, Texas; and Roy Jr. and George, both of Phoenix, a daughter: Claudia Bachtel of Phoenix; three sisters; Mrs. Joseph Hudak, Mrs. Marie McNulty, and Mrs. Walter Clearwater out of state; two brothers Harold and Arthur, both out of state, and 13 grandchildren. Services were held at St. Albans Episcopal Church with burial in Wickenburg Cemetery.
