The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ January 17, 1974, p. 14 William P. Lewis, 53, of Wickenburg, died January 2 in Community Hospital here. Born June 26, 1920, in Vinton, Louisiana, Mr. Lewis moved to Wickenburg three years ago following his retirement from the Continential Oil Company Refinery. He lived at Palm Drive Trailer Ranch. Mr. Lewis had been a resident of Lake Charles, La., for 20 years prior to coming to Arizona. During his years in Louisiana he was active with the Boys Scouts, PTA and other civic organizations. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; three sons, William Jr., of Wickenburg; Dr. Ronald, Castro valley, California, and Robert of Crofton, Maryland; one daughter, Katherine Lewis of Sonnyvale, California; one brother, Ernest F. of Lafayette, La., and four grandchildren. Services were held Monday, January 7, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Burial followed in Wickenburg Cemetery. The flag which draped Mr. Lewis casket will fly along the Avenue of Flags at Whipple.
