Viva Murphy
Life-long resident of Maricopa and Yavapai Counties, Mary Genevive Murphy died January 10 in Phoenix.
Miss Murphy was born in Phoenix on August 3, 1889. Her parents were Genevive Hutchinson Murphy a school teacher at the Vulture Mine and Deputy Sheriff James Kinnard Murphy of Phoenix. Both were well known in this area.
Growing up with the area Miss Murphy was witness to its history. She lived at Vulture and at Black Rock Mine east of Wickenburg.
Services were held at the A. L. Moore Mortuary in Phoenix at noon January 12.
Survivors include an aunt, Adelaide M. Tweed of Tucson.
