HUNTER, Claud Raymond


The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ May 9, 1974, p. 8 Claud Raymond Hunter, 74, passed away at the V.A. Center, Friday, April after a lingering illness. Mr. Hunter was born Jun 12, 1899 in Denison, Texas and had been a conductor for the Southern Pacific Railroad for 33 years until his retirement in 1958. He moved to Wickenburg, Arizona 8 years ago from San Jose, California, and lived in the Country Club Park. A veteran of the U.S. Marine corp serving during W.W. I., he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and was a member of the Elks lodge in San Jose, California. Survived by his wife Esther of Wickenburg, 3 sisters – Mrs. Lorena Hunter of San Jose, California, Mrs. Evelyn Rice also of San Jose and Mrs. Lillian Griffith of Santa Marie, California. Funeral services will be held at the V.A. Chapel, Monday April 29 at 10:00 am and full military graveside rites will follow in the Prescott National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 pm Sunday and from 8 am to 9:15 am Monday at Memory Chapel.
