Peggy A. Garito, 58, of Flagstaff died on Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at Olivia White Hospice Home with her husband at her side. She died after a long battle with breast cancer.
She was born on Oct. 25, 1951, in Dumont, N.J., to Casey and Louise Carlevaro.
Mrs. Garito held various jobs throughout her lifetime, working in the medical field and most recently with Northern Arizona University's College of Education and Institution for Human Development. She was an active member of NAU's Classified Staff Advisory Council throughout the years. She graduated from Coconino Community College with her daughter in 1998. She was known for her humor, love and tenacity. She was a member of the San Franscisco De Asis Parish.
Mrs. Garito is survived by her husband, Tom Garito; daughter Theresa Rogers; two beautiful grandchildren; sister Ronni (Barbara); and her parents, Casey and Louise Carlevaro, who will always remember her as very caring, loving, and one who always put others ahead of herself.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Norvel Owens Mortuary, 914 E. Route 66. Mass will follow at noon Tuesday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 2257 E. Cedar Ave.
