John S. Backues of Paradise, CA died Tuesday, June 24 in Paradise. Born to Lane and Lenna Backues June 10, 1929 in Globe. He was a self-employed cabinet maker for 20 years living in Huntington Beach, Ca., and Las Vegas Nev. before moving to Paradise, Ca. after the death of his wife Sally. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Survived by his son, John Backues, Jr., of Paradise, Ca.; daughters, Denise Swift of Big Bear, Ca. and Beverly Forsberg of Huntington Beach, Ca.; six grandchildren and five great grandchild. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at Good Shepherd Cemetery in Huntington Beach, Ca. at 1 p.m.
