Darvil Burns McBride, Age 94, 3rd generation Arizona Pioneer, Historian, Educator, Entrepreneur, Poli-tician, Author, Statesman, Poet, Servant of his fellow man, Patriarch to his large family, and cheerfully obedient Husband, Died gracefully the afternoon of May 6, 2003, holding the hand of sweet Josephine, "...His love his heart" during his last 85 years -- yes, since he "was 9 and she was only 6." Besides his wife who loves him dearly, he is survived by two brothers and a sister, all three of his children, all 22 of his grandchildren and continuously growing numbers of great, and great great grandchildren, all his progeny numbering 121 at this particular moment. He continues to influence them all in myriad ways, mostly good, even unto the 4th generation. Memorial services will be held at 11 AM, tomorrow, Saturday, May 10, 2003, at the Alta Mesa Ward Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, located at 5620 E. Adobe, Mesa, AZ, Private viewing for the family will be from 9:30 till 10 AM at the chapel and for friends from 10 till 10:45. Interment will be at Mesa City Cemetery following the services.
