Read, 73, died Thursday in Huggins Hospital in Wolfboro, N.H. following illness. Read was born in Brooklin, Mass. and moved to Tamworth in 1924. He was a 1922 graduate of Harvard. He worked as a chemist for the American Sugar Company and was active in Tamworth and Carroll County, N. H. organizations. He is survived by his wife Clara, two sons, three daughters and 10 grandchildren. Memorial services were held Saturday in Wonlacet, N. H.
