After a long and hard battle with cancer, Joe E. Sedillo, of Quemado, New Mexico, died peacefully at his home Oct. 3, 2004. He was 78 years old.
Joe was born to Marcelino and Tiofila Sedillo Dec. 27, 1925 in Mangas, Mexico. He served in the United States Army from 1946 to 1949. He married Crusita Castillo June 30, 1948, after which they made their home in Quemado.
He worked for the New Mexico State Highway Department for 21 years, retiring in 1988. His friends are countless, as he never met a stranger.
His survivors include his wife, Crusita Sedillo, Quemado; daughters Flora (Arthur) Olguin, Socorro New Mexico and Sandra Sedillo, Albuquerque, New Mexico; grandchildren Jolie Olguin, Celena Bruton, Alvin Bruton, Jr. and Joe Vincent Olguin; and great grandchildren Domenique, Natasha, Antonia, Miguel, Albert Jr. Miriah, Alexandria and Joleen.
His parents, Marcelino and Tiofila Sedillo precede him in death.
A Memorial Mass will be held for Joe will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Quemado, Friday, Oct. 8, 2004 at 11 a.m.
