FRIEND, Robert Eugene

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 10/05/2004 Robert Eugene Friend 72, surrounded by the love of his family died peacefully on Sunday, Aug. 29 2004. Bob was born in Continental, Ohio. Bob and Pat raised their family in Phoenix and in their later years resided in Pinetop and Apache Junction. Bob proudly served in the Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War. After settling in Phoenix, Bob married his best friend and life partner Patricia (Pat) Boelke in 1953. They were married for 51 years. Bob was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local 359. He then pursued a career as a Law Enforcement Officer in Navajo County until retiring in 1993. Bob was active in the community for 17 years as Scout Leader in Troop 205. In this capacity, he hoped shape the lives of many future community leaders. His loving wife, Pat, his three children, Steve & Vicki Friend, Roger & Cindie Hicks, Terry and April Friend and six grandchildren survive Bob. Bob will be greatly missed by many friends and loved ones. There will be memorial service held Saturday October 9, at 2 p.m., Superstition Butte clubhouse 301 S. Signal Butte, Apache Junction.
