HEMPHILL, Richard (Dick)

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 10/08/2004 Richard "Dick" Hemphill died Aug. 16, 2004. Dick was born Sept. 17, 1937 to Lyle and Wilma Hemphill. He was a longtime resident of the White Mountain area. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and numerous outdoor activities. With his sincerity, friendliness and direct mannerism, Dick made friends easily and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He served with the United States Coast Guard, Navajo County Sheriff's Department, Navajo County Roads Department and the Pinetop-Lakeside Police Department where he retired from law enforcement in 1992. He is survived by his wife Diane; daughter Terri; and son Lyle. He was preceded in death by his parents and son Jodi Hemphill. A memorial service honoring Dick Hemphill will be held at the Calvary Baptist Church, 241 E. McNeil in Show Low Saturday, Oct.16 at 2 p.m. Messages of condolences can be sent to P.O.
