He was born at Toledo, Iowa and spent 4 years teaching Engineering at State industrial School at Eldora, Iowa. For 20 years he was Superintendant at the IOOF Home in Northfield, Minnesota. He then had a Trading Post for 8 years at Garrison, Minnesota. He retired to live in Wickenburg for 17 years. He is survived by his wife Leone, to whom he was married almost 62 years, his sister Jennie Lund and a sister Ruth Dort. He was a 57 year member of the IOOF Lodge and more than 40 years a Mason.
