Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, Arizona Tuesday, May 4, 2010 Elwin Wray Abel, 72, of Flagstaff, died May 2, 2010. He was born Sept. 25, 1937, in Muskogee, Okla. His life's job, as well as his enjoyment, was his carpentry work. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and loved to write poetry in his spare time. Mr. Abel is survived by his daughter, Paula Abel; brothers Joe Abel and Charles Abel; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Abel; his mother, Mildred UllaDean Abel; and his brother, James Abel. A service of remembrance will take place Thursday at 2 p.m. at Norvel Owens Mortuary Chapel, 914 E. Route 66 in Flagstaff. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Rose Arbor Residence, 3220 Gillenwater Drive, Flagstaff, AZ 86001.
