Sylvia K. Dale, 86, died Monday Oct. 4, 2004 at the Tuba City Medical Hospital in Tuba City.
She was born in Greasewood Sept. 18, 1918. Sylvia attended school at St. Michael Catholic School. Following school she worked as a factory worker for Sante Fe in Winslow during World War II. Sylvia then went to work for the City of Holbrook where she worked as a Ford Service Worker until her retirement in 1988.
She also did rug weaving; some of her rugs are still on display at the Heard Museum. Sylvia was also a Route 66 Harvey Girl and assisted people in their travels.
Sylvia is survived by her daughters, Theresa Dale of Holbrook, Susie Dale of Flagstaff; sons Dan Dale of Wide Ruins, David Dale, Jr. of Tuba City; sister, Elizabeth Kinlicheenie of Winslow; 25 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Holbrook with a visitation one-hour prior to the service.
