The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 10/12/2004 Irene W. Hale, 87, of St. Johns died Oct. 7, 2004 in Snowflake. Irene was born Sept. 25, 1917 in Nutrioso to Orsen and Leona (Lund) Wilkens. She was a lifelong resident of Arizona working at various jobs for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Survivors include her husband, Clair C. Hale of St. Johns; sons, Clair Olen Hale of Eagar, and Donald Douglas Hale of St. Johns; her brother Byron Wilkens of Eagar; six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004 at 10 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Downtown Chapel, St. Johns. Visitation will be held prior to the service in the Relief Society Room beginning at 9 a.m.. Interment will be in the Eagar City Cemetery, in Eagar. Arrangements are under the care of Greer's Mortuary of Winslow.
