The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 10/15/2004 Helen Corry Kimmel 85, died Oct. 8, 2004 in her sleep at home due to complications from a stroke suffered four months before. Helen's loving family cared for her until the end at her home with the help of Arizona Hospice. In place of flowers please make donations to them at RTA Hospice, 1789 W. Commerce Dr., Lakeside, AZ 85939. Helen was born May 29, 1919 in Cedar City, Utah the daughter of John Herbert Corry and Lula Jane Robinson. She was the youngest of seven siblings, six of whom have already passed. She grew up in Southern Utah while working for the National Park Service in numerous parks and ski lodges in Utah, Arizona and Southern Idaho. She married Albert C. Biedermann of Cedar City in 1944 while he was in U.S. Navy and Helen worked for Boeing Aircraft on the B-29 Bombers in Seattle, Washington while waiting for the end of WWII. Her only son, Larry was born in 1948. Helen moved to Southern California in 1955 and settled in Corona, California in 1958. She worked as a waitress until 1965 when she remarried to Laurence (Larry) Edward Kimmel of Corona, CA. Helen was active in the Auto Body Repair industry until her husband, Larry, sold the business in 1996. She retired from active life and concentrated on her home and yard work until the death of her husband, Larry in January 2000. Health problems and age restricted her activities until she moved to Snowflake in Oct. 2003. She was a member of a LDS pioneering family all her life and a joy to be around. Helen will be lovingly remembered by her family she left behind; her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Kathy Biedermann of Snowflake; grandchildren, Tina Marie Graves of Riverside, California, Kayla DeAnn Biedermann of Victorville, California, Jason Corry Biedermann of Chine Hills, California and seven great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. LaRue Corry Wood of Corona, California. Funeral services were held Thurday, Oct. 14 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints LaSalle Chapel on LaSalle St. in Moreno Valley. Burial will be at the Riverside VA Memorial Cemetery in Riverside. Owens Mortuary of Snowflake, AZ handled arrangements.
