The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ June 12, 1975, p. 14 William Dan Davis William Dan Davis was born on October 5, 1909 in Crowder, Oklahoma. He passed away in Yuma hospital on June 1, 1975. He is survived by two brothers, Elish Cooper of California, and George Cooper of Oklahoma; a sister, Elva Keller of San Lorenzo, California; and numerous nieces and nephew. Bill moved to Salome from Sommerton, Arizona, where he was a deputy sheriff. He worked as deputy sheriff in Salome until he was elected as a deputy sheriff in Salome until he was elected Justice of the Peace, and he worked in that capacity until his retirement. He served twenty-five years as a county employee. He was a member of the Shriners, the Yuma County Sheriff's Posse, and the Salome Lion's Club District Governor of 21 C in 1966-1967. His services were held on June 5 at 6:00 p.m. In the Lion's Club Building with Rev. Lester Ray officiating. Mrs. Pauline Hayes was soloist. Graveside services at the Wenden Cemetery were conducted by the Wickenburg Masons. Pall Bearers were Chet Lott, Eli McCasselin, Jess DeLeon, Elmer Ross, Larry leach, and Curtis Mork. His sister, Elva Keller, and James Wallin, the husband of a niece came from California to attend the service. Arrangements were made from Kammann Mortuary in Yuma.
