The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ September 25, 1975, p. 10 Bill Davis Memorial services for William C. “Bill” Davis of Phoenix were held in Phoenix at the First Christian Church on Thursday, Sept. 18, at 2:00 p.m. Mr. Davis, who was executive vice president of the Arizona Cattle Growers’ Association since 1963 and a prominent figure in the beef cattle industry here, died September 11 while on vacation in Wyoming, the SUN learned earlier this week. He was 58. Prior to joining the Cattle Growers’ Association, Davis served as Executive Secretary of the Arizona Farm Bureau Federation for 11 years, was field representative for the Wyoming Farm Bureau and fieldman for the American Farm Bureau in 11 western states. He served five years in the U.S. Army with combat service in the South pacific, was awarded the Bronze Star, the Combat Infantry Badge and was discharged as a first lieutenant. A native of Sheridan, Wy. Davis was born December 9, 1916, was reared on a ranch there, attended high school there and attended William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri. Survivors include his wife Alison; three sons, Richard of Tempe; John of Cornville; Robert of Phoenix; one daughter, Barbara Downing of Phoenix and three grandchildren.
