The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona 10/26/2004 Diane East Huish, 57, of Snowflake returned home to her Heavenly Father Oct. 21, 2004 after a very courageous battle with cancer. Diane was born March 24, 1947 in Benson. Diane was raised in Pomerene. She graduated from Benson High School, Cochise College, and ASU. She taught school in Sacaton, Kearny and Snowflake. Diane married Ken Huish in the Mesa Arizona Temple June 1, 1973 for time and all eternity. Their son Aaron was born September 15, 1978. Diane was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served in many positions in the church. She liked most when she was involved with children and youth. To quote her, "I am most happy when I am busy doing things for others." Diane is survived by her husband Ken Huish of Snowflake; son Aaron; and his wife Jody of Ogden, Utah; sister Cora Stewart of West Point, Utah; brother John East of Sparks, Nevada; and many nieces and nephews who dearly loved their Aunt Diane. Diane was preceded in death by her parents Franklin and Louise East, sister Barbara Skinner and brother Ross East. Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24 and 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 25. Funeral services will be Monday, Oct. 25 at 11 a.m. The viewings and funeral will all be held at the LDS Temples View Chapel on Hwy 277 in Snowflake. Arrangements are handled by Allen Funeral Home of Mesa. Contributions can be made to RTA Hospice in Lakeside.
