Wintz, Sarah Elizabeth
Sarah Elizabeth Wintz was born on 28 March 1986 in Galesburg, IL and died on 2 December 2003 at the age of 17 years 9 months and 4 days. She was a senior at Mountain Pointe High School where she taught in the Cubs Preschool, sang in the Acapella choir, and was active in Future Teachers of America and the Animal Rights Group. Sarah was employed by Chuck E Cheese in Ahwatukee where she worked to provide children with wonderful birthdays.
Sarah loved children and teaching and had planned to become a teacher for developmentally delayed preschoolers. She also loved animals and spent much energy caring for them. Sarah was beloved by all who knew her and had the joy of having her in their lives. Her joy for life will live on through her gift of tissue and whole body donation for both transplantation and research efforts, which was one of her great passions and desires. Sarah is survived by her parents, the Revs. Michael and Susan Wintz and her brother Matt all of Ahwatukee; her grandparents Vi Koehne of Manchester, Iowa and Peg and Bert Wintz of Waterloo, Iowa; her aunts and uncles Cassie and David Koehne of Mt. Zion, IL and Melody and Brian Hostetler of St Louis, MO, her cousins Robert, Kate, and Niklaus Koehne and Lili Hostetler; her loving boyfriend Brian Northrup of Ahwatukee and his family, and her many, many friends. A Celebration of Sarah's life will be held on Monday, December 8, 2003 at 4:00 p.m. at Horizon Presbyterian Church, 1401 East Liberty Lane, Phoenix.
Memorials may be sent to the care of her family, who plan to set up a scholarship fund in her name for the Mountain Pointe Preschool. Michael and Susan Wintz, 13820 S. 44th St. #1185 Phoenix, AZ 85044.
