NIELSEN, George Booth, Sr.


Nielsen Sr., George Booth George Booth Nielsen, Sr., 85, of Sun City, AZ, passed away on November 26, 2003. He was born in 1918 in Halfa, Ia. to Soren & Marguerite Nielsen. George farmed in Iowa until he was drafted in 1941; he served 4 1/2 years in the Army, mostly in the 86th Black-hawk Division in the European Theater starting with the Battle of the Bulge. He retired in 1981 from the Circle K Corporation as Manager of the Dairy Division. George was active in Bethany Presbyterian Church, Phoenix, where he served as a Deacon, Elder, and a Sunday School Teacher. He was a Life Member, (58) years of the Phoenix B.P.O. Elks, #335. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Beverly J. Nielsen of Sun City, and two sons, George B. Nielsen, Jr. & wife Marcia; Jim B. Nielsen & wife Dee; two brothers: Robert J. Nielsen of Armstrong, Iowa, and Richard E. Nielsen of Breuillet, France; two sisters: Virginia MacKinnon of Napa, Ca. & Shirley Hughes of Ham-ilton, Ohio. He has 6 grand-children, & 3 great grandsons: Megan Nielsen, 2nd Yr. Law student at U. of A.; Kerri Nielsen Gray in Germany with husband in the Service & two great grandsons: Nikki Schott & great grandson of Glendale, Az., & Grandsons Terrence Nielsen, Mike Nielsen, & Adam Stumpo of Phoenix. A Memor-ial Service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Sun City, AZ, 12225 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City, AZ 85351, on Tuesday, December 9, 2003, at 3:30 PM.
