SMITH, Ceola

The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Wednesday, December 10, 2003 Ceola Williams Smith, age 87, died December 03, 2003 in Glendale. She was born August 8, 1916 in Brookhaven, Mississippi, a daughter of James and Janie Harris Williams. Ceola married Joe Smith on December 24, 1936 in Monticello, Mississippi. They shared a happy life together for over 50 years. They moved to Flagstaff in 1946 and established a fellowship with First Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Silas Thorton. She was gainfully employed in the Flagstaff area for over 30 years, a member and officer of the Daughters of Elks, and her home at 601 So. O'leary was listed in Flagstaff's Home Beautiful Magazine. Ceola is survived by her brother James W. (Ollie) Williams, several nephews and their respective families, cousins, and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, James and Janie Williams, her beloved husband Joe Smith, a brother Jesse B. Williams, a sister Cella Williams, and her late nephew James L. Williams. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 11th, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church, 219 S. Elden. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 10th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Flagstaff Mortuary, 2545 N. Fourth Street. Arrangements are under the direction of Flagstaff Mortuary.
