WALLICK, Joseph Duane


Wallick, Joseph Duane Joseph Duane Wallick passed away Dec. 1, 2003 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born April 24, 1927 to Arthur E. and Marion Wallick in Parral, Ohio. He graduated from Dover High School and served in the Army from 1945 to 1949 where he attained the rank of sargeant. Joe then moved to Goodyear, Arizona where he met Sunny (Helen) Sacharoff. They married and lived in Strasburg, Ohio where they owned a Western Auto store until he became the Chief of Police in Strasburg. He returned to the trade he was raised in, painting, when the family moved to Colton, CA. He moved to Paradise CA in 1977, he was employed by many painting contractors, and enjoyed panning for gold in the many rivers there. After retiring, he pursued his love of collecting and trading, and moved to Quartzsite, Az where he made many friends. Joe was also known for his love of flying and owned and operated aircraft in Ohio and Colton, CA. He is survived by five daughters, Tamera and Steve Maynard, Connie Fisher, Elizabeth Smith, Roseanne Wallick, and Amber Wallick and spouse Manuel Colunga. He also is survived by four step-children, Michele and Ben Humphries, Michael Belculfino, Alexis Villafan, and Wayne (Dude) White. Joe has 20 grandchildren and four great-granddaughters. He is also survived by his aunt, Janice Ost of Ohio, brothers, Samuel, James, Ronald, and Lamonte, sisters Barbara Ludlow, Nancy Sterling, and Judith Wallick and many nieces and nephews. Joe made and kept many friends wherever he lived and will be remembered for his honesty, his word was his bond. Services will be held Sat. Dec. 13th at 10:30 A.M. at the First Baptist Church located at 30 Church Street, Quartzsite, Az. Donations can be sent to Hospice of Havasu Inc., P.O. Box 597, Lake Havasu City, Az 86405.
