Eugene E. Tschumy, age 72, passed away on December 8, 2003, after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer. Gene was the president of Code Electric Corporation, which he had operated since 1964. Gene is survived by his wife Glema Tschumy, and his children, Gloria Cales and her husband Clint Davis, Charles Cales, Ernest Cales, Connie Grosskopf, and Wendy Foss of California. Gene is also survived by three adult grandchildren, Michael Turner, Christopher Grosskopf and Colby Cales. Gene also left behind two minor grandchildren, Kellyn and Ryder Davis, who adored him. Gene was an accomplished home designer, electrician, builder and pilot. Aside from his love for his family and friends, nothing was more dear to him than flying his Cessna 182. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Carr Tenney Mortuary, 2621 S. Rural Rd., Tempe, Az. The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to either the Arizona Humane Society 9226 N. 13th Ave. Phoenix, Az. 85021 or Hospice of the Valley 1510 E. Flower St. Phoenix, Az. 85014.
