Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ, Friday, Dec 24, 1948 A PIONEER DIES HERMAN NELSON LIVED LONG IN THIS REGION Word was received here this week of the death of Herman Nelson, 67, long time resident of Morristown and Wickenburg. Mr Nelson passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs J. W. Smiley of Needles, Calif., where he had made his home since first becoming ill in October. TO ARIZONA IN '03 Born in Hoopeston, Ill., he came to Arizona in 1903 and settled in the Prescott and Mayer country. Fourteen years ago he moved to Morristown where he ran the Silver Station. Three years ago he sold that business and moved to Wickenburg for a year. Services will be held at 10 a. m. Friday, December 24, at Needles, followed by burial there. THE SURVIVORS Survivors include the widow Jenny, also of Needles, his daughter, Mrs Smiley, and one son, Laurence, of Wickenburg, and two grandsons.
