Stewart, Shirley Kingston Shirley Kingston Stewart, 75, passed away December 10, 2003 in Mesa, Arizona, following a valiant 2 year struggle with multiple medical problems with her family by her side. She was born March 8, 1938 in Rochester, NY. She was an avid bridge player and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She worked as a registered nurse for 36 years. She is survived by her husband, Charles "Pete" Stewart of more than 47 years; daughters Joan Elizabeth Severance of Tempe, AZ and Julie Ann August of Gilbert, AZ; sisters-in-law Sue Stewart of Mt. View, CA, and Carol Benoit of Mt. View, CA; and her five grandchildren: Jennifer Severance, Sarah Severance, Emily August, Claire Severance, and Betsy August. Memorial Services will be Saturday, December 13, 2003 at 11 AM in the Lakeshore Mortuary Chapel, 1815 S. Dobson Rd, Mesa, AZ. Contributions in Shirley's memory may be made to the charity of your choice. Published in the Arizona Republic on 12/12/2003.
