William (Bill) Bohon, 76, of Prescott Valley, Ariz., died peacefully on Sunday, May 2, 2010, with his family at his side. He had suffered a sudden cardiac event late Friday evening, and was later air-lifted to the Phoenix Heart Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery early Saturday morning.
An only child of Lucien and Marguerite Bohon, Bill was born in Decatur, Ill., on Jan. 5, 1934, where he graduated high school and earned a bachelor's degree in business from Millikin University in 1958. After serving two years in the U.S. Army, Bill had a successful career as a director in the grain futures purchasing industry, working at Central Soya, Nabisco, and retiring from Perdue in 1993. In retirement, he enjoyed gold hunting, family gatherings and volunteering for the Forest Service.
Bill is survived by his wife of 40 years, Patricia Bohon. He was loved deeply by his family, including his children, Susan Bohon-Warnes (Tom), David (Joy) Bohon, Todd (Lisa) Marquart and David Marquart. Bill was a loving grandfather of six, Barak, Megan, Alex M., Gabrielle, Ashley and Alex W.
A private service took place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Humane Society.
