SIMMONS, Doris

Doris Simmons, 75, of Goodyear, AZ, passed away May 6, 2003 in Goodyear, AZ. Doris was born March 12, 1928 and spent her childhhod in Brooklyn, New York. Doris attended Our Lady of Czestochowa Catholic School in New York. She was married to her loving husband for 47 years and lived in Hawaii for over 33 years with her husband. She was very active in the Oahu Country Club in Hawaii and held a very low handy cap in golf and loved to play cards at the club. She was a life member of Queens Auxiliary at the Queens Hospital in Honolulu. She was a great hostess for her husband and his business associates and arranged many entertaining events for his associates and their spouses while in Hawaii. Hawaii holds a special place in her heart for both the people and the lovely state. Doris is survived by her husband Dudley of Goodyear, step-daughter Shelley Anne Chaffee of Monterey, California, sister Pearl Kiernan of Miami Beach, Florida. Several nieces and nephews also survive her. A private service and burial will be held on Monday, May 12th in Goodyear, Arizona.
