ROAN, Carl C. (Cliff), Jr.


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 11/19/2004 Carl C. "Cliff" Roan, Jr., died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004 in Tucson. Carl was born Jan. 11, 1934 to Carl C. and Eula Clark Roan in Tupelo, Oklahoma. Carl had served for eight years with the United States Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. He worked in the lumber mills in California before coming to Mammoth in 1972. Working for ASARCO for 24 years as the Power House Operator, he retired in 1996. At this time he started living in both Mammoth and Eagar. He loved to fish, swim and he enjoyed talking and visiting as well as playing Bingo at the senior center each week. Above all he loved his family and enjoyed being with them. Survivors include his wife Shirlene Roan of Mammoth; daughters, Debbie (Martin) Vargas of Mammoth, Brenda (Chris) Josefowicz of Catalina; son, Carl (Queta) Roan of Mammoth; sister, Bessie Elliott of California; and brother, Clark Roan of Mammoth; eight grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 13 at the First Southern Baptist Church in Mammoth with Pastor Jim Dixon officiating. Interment was at Valley View Cemetery in Mammoth. Arrangements were handled by Griffith Mortuary.
