COX, Barbara Joan

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 11/19/2004 Barbara Joan Cox, 67, died Nov. 16, 2004, in Lakeside. Barbara was born in Springfield, Illinois, and her family moved to Chicago when she was a child. When she was in her 20's she met Kenneth Cox after moving to Arizona, fell in love and were married Oct. 6, 1962. Together they had four children. In her spare time Barbara loved to read, watch her favorite television programs, and garden. Barbara also had a poetic flair and often wrote poetry to describe the events in her life. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Barbara is survived by her husband, Kenneth Cox of Show Low; three sons, Michael Cox of Phoenix, Richard Cox of Show Low, and John Cox of Phoenix; daughter, Diane (Eric) Sharp of Las Vegas, Nevada; one grandson, Richard Vantrease; and brother, John A. Barry of Chicago, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her father, John A. Barry, her mother, Frances Ries, and brother, David Barry. Private family services will be held.
