The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 12/24/2004 Carol Parker, age 79, died Dec. 17, 2004 in Phoenix. She was born and raised in California, where she lived most of her life. After graduating from high school Carol attended college for 2 years. She met Howard Parker in Japan and they were married in 1950. They loved to travel, and returned to Japan often. They also loved golfing. Carol had other hobbies and was known for her love of needlework. She worked for Lockheed Aircraft Co. for 35 years and retired about 15 years ago. She and Howard moved to Taylor in 2001 so they could be closer to their family. Carol is survived by her daughter, Hope (Robert) Silvia of Taylor, four grandchildren, Kristina, Robert, Kari and Rachel and two great-grandchildren, Ayanna and Kylie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, her parents, Shigeichi and Fukako Watanabe her brother, Ken J. Watanabe and three sisters. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday Dec. 28 at Owens Mortuary in Snowflake with a visitation one hour prior and from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 27 at Owens Mortuary.
