HOSTETTER,
Christopher Charles
The White Mountain Independent,
Show Low, Arizona - 12/24/2004
Christopher Charles Hostetter was born in Lodi, California Feb. 17, 1963. As a child, Chris moved with his family to Illinois for a short while before returning to Visalia, California.
After graduating from Mt. Whitney High School, Chris earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Parks and Natural Resource Management at California State University, Chico, after taking a preponderance of courses in computer science. While attending Chico State, Chris fell in love with Sandra Mota during a college bible study at Grace Community Church, located on Lover's Lane in Visalia, California. Chris and Sandra married on August 24, 1985 and moved to Long Beach, California, where they had two children, Christian and Josiah.
While in Long Beach, Chris managed his own computer consulting firm-Computer Paramedics-and served as a computer graphics instructor at California State University, Long Beach.
Realizing a life long dream, Chris and his family moved to the White Mountains of Arizona to settle a small, untamed ranch. Hoping to instill honor and work ethic in his children, Chris embarked on a journey to build the house of his dreams near the environs of White Mountain Lake. Chris' ability to put to use his certifiable genius, to propagate verdant landscapes and to find a sense of peace within each of GodÃs creations, helped him to build a home on the feral frontier of civilization.
Always eager to make the lives of others hassle free, Chris worked endlessly to make the world a better place. Chris had a love for gadgets and contraptions that paralleled his love for God. Chris had a servant's heart and always strove to draw others closer to God. A deft guitarist and vocalist, Chris served as a worship leader for his church in both California and the White Mountains. Chris' constant jubilation and notes of praise infused his service driven life.
His youthful wit and charm were among his most patent characteristics, while his vivacious ear-to-ear smile lightened even the most melancholic situations. Chris' joie de vivre has been an inspiration to his family. He was an awesome husband and father. As a good steward of the resources God gave him, Chris employed to the fullest every talent and each iota of time that was granted him. Chris loved life and all of God's creations. Chris will be dearly missed.
