Geneva Dawn Wissinger, 73 passed away at her home in Alpine, Dec. 20, 2004.
Geneva was born May 22, 1931 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She grew up on a farm in Wisconsin. She had a horse that she loved dearly. Geneva loved the outdoors. She loved to hunt and fish and went often with her husband and kids. She enjoyed her flowers and garden and loved to cook for her family. Geneva spent a lot of her time crocheting and doing needle-point. She always had a favorite dog at her side, usually a poodle.
Ed and Geneva lived in Safford for many years. They owned and operated E&G floor coverings for twenty years. Geneva lived her last years in Alpine, enjoying the beauty of the pines and cool temperatures of the high country.
Geneva's survivors include her husband of 37 years, Edward Wissinger and seven sons, Duane Merrick, Gary Merrick, Mike Merrick, Kevin Merrick, Chris Wissinger, Eddie Wissinger, Jr. and Dale Wissinger, and one daughter, Kim Howley. Also her sister, Agnes Jerne of Washington; brother Rex Holbrook, Wisconsin; mother Clara Carey, Safford; and last, but not least, 17 wonderful grandchildren.
Geneva Dawn Wissinger will be greatly missed by all her friends and family.
A memorial service was held Dec. 24 at the Burnham-Jewkes Mortuary Chapel, at 535 N. Main St., Eagar. Burnham-Jewkes Mortuary also handled the arrangements.
