Kenneth Lowes Dunder died Oct. 18, 2002. The family of Kenneth Lowes Dunder, formerly of Grand Junction, Colorado and Detroit, Michigan has recently learned of his sudden death as a result of a massive heart attack October 18, 2002, in Northridge, California, were he had been living since 1986.
He was born in Detroit, Michigan Nov. 25, 1944 to Max August Dunder and the former Gwendolynn Ruth Dechow. He graduated from Houghton Academy, (N.Y) in 1962 and attended Houghton College, Los Angeles Baptist College, and graduated from Azusa Pacific College (California) in 1969. His graduate work was completed at Western State College (Colorado) in 1976.
He taught in Grand Junction schools from 1970 to 1983. He was also involved in several retail businesses in Grand Junction before moving to California in 1986. From 1995 to his death he was employed as an educator at the Vista Del Mar Family Services Agency in Los Angeles. He was married to Joy Pietropaulo in 1967 in Altoona, Pennsylvania and later divorced in 1990.
He is survived by his five children, Parke L. Dunder, Grand Canyon, Sarah A. Facer (Richard), Flagstaff, Ean L. Dunder and Max L. Dunder, Flagstaff, Molly L. Dunder, Lancaster, Pennsylvania and his former wife, Joy Fukumoto (David).
He is also survived by his father and stepmother, Mr and Mrs. Max A. Dunder, Sullivan, Indiana; three sisters, Laurie Grayem (Tim) and Julie Harder (Michael), Santa Clarita, California and Connie Figg (John), Sullivan, Indiana; and one brother, Steve Dunder (Cindy), Sullivan, Indiana; and nine nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Gwendolynn Ruth Jayroe, Santa Clarita, CA and his grandparents, Mr and Mrs Franklin Dechow (Hazel), Northridge, California.
