Teresa Whatcott, 51, died Jan. 8, 2005.
Teresa was born in the old Maternity Hospital in Snowflake. She was raised in Lakeside where she lived most of her life, attending Lakeside Elementary School and graduating from Blue Ridge High School as Valedictorian with the Class of 1971. She then attended Mesa Community College for two years and received an Associate Degree in Child Psychology.
She worked for the City of Mesa for a short time and during that time she met Tim Whatcott. They were married Feb. 2, 1974 in the Mesa Arizona Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They soon moved to Lakeside where they made their home and began raising their family.
Teresa was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities including Relief Society, Young Women, Activities Committee, and she was serving faithfully as the Ward Primary President at the time of her passing. Teresa was foremost a wife, mother and homemaker. She was an excellent cook and seamstress, making the wedding dresses for her daughters and others, and clothes for her children and grandchildren. She could sew just about anything. She loved serving her family and anyone else who needed her help.
Teresa was valiant in all that she did. She fought a courageous battle with cancer and never gave up. Even though she was suffering physically, Teresa always kept a very positive outlook on life and enjoyed her family to the very end. She passed away Saturday evening at her home with all of her family at her side.
Teresa is survived by her husband Tim Whatcott; four sons, C. Brian (Merika) Whatcott of Lakeside, Russell B. (Kendra) Whatcott of Provo, Utah, Greg S. and Tyler B. Whatcott, both of Lakeside; five daughters, April (Josh) Hoyt of Lakeside, Heather (Nephi) Raehl of Tucson, Andrea (Mike) Lindgren of Lakeside, Keri (Isaac) Gougler of Show Low, and Whitney Whatcott of Lakeside; her parents, V. June and Cheri Webb of Lakeside; six brothers, Thad, Kim, Kirk, Aaron and Loren Webb all of Lakeside and Darren Webb of Show Low; one sister, Vicki Wilhelm of Lakeside; and 12 grandchildren.
