MCCAWLEY, Charles Norbert


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 01/14/2005 Charles Norbert McCawley, 79, died at his home Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2005 in Pinedale. He was born in Crete, Nebraska where he grew up and attended school. In his youth he worked as a paperboy. Charles and his future wife met in high school. Following school he enlisted in the Navy. During his service in the military he married his high school sweetheart, Myrtis Mary Baltzer. Following his military service they made their home in Phoenix before moving to Cave Creek in 1969. During this time Charles worked as an electrician. He retired in 1984 and moved to Pinedale in 1998. He was a ghost town antique hunter and enjoyed spending time at the Grand Canyon. Charles is survived by his wife Myrtis M. McCawley of Linden; sons, Charles K. McCawley of Pinedale, Greg McCawley of Cave Creek, Clint McCawley of Linden, Tom McCawley, Terry McCawley both of Nebraska, Jerry McCawley of Phoenix; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Interment will be at 9 a.m. Friday, Jan. 14 in the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix. Owens Mortuary of Show Low handled arrangements.
