Clark Vandervoort, 74, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2005 at the RTA Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Lakeside.
He was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado where he lived until entering the Army. Clark proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict. While vacationing in Arizona in the 70s he fell in love with the White Mountain and bought a ranch. In 1985 he married his longtime friend Izora Cupples. Clark's skill for most of his life was concrete contracting.
He owned several businesses in Colorado Spring and in Arizona. He had a very good reputation for quality workmanship. In his spare time, his passion was breaking horses and would go for rides whenever the opportunity arose. Clark was fun loving with a good sense of humor, and a good husband and friend. He will be dearly missed.
Clark is survived by his wife, Izora Vandervoort of Golden Horse Ranch; son, Clark Vandervoort, Jr. of Fontana, California; four daughters, Sherry Amarol of Fontana, California, Christine Vandervoort of Lakeside, Lynn Harbert of Arkansas, Shirley Paswaters of Nunn, Colorado; two brothers, Calvin Vandrevoort of Fontana, California, Carl Vandervoort of Colorado Springs, Colorado; sister Sarah Maney of Valparaiso, Indiana; along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, at the Show Low VFW.
