Hoenshell, George J.
George J. Hoenshell was born November 29, 1938 to George and Louise Hoenshell in Los Angeles, California. He died December 9, 2003, in Scottsdale, AZ, with his wife Gina, at his side. He is also survived by his daughter Cindi McKeon (Dennis), his sons Randy Hoenshell (Peggy), Ron Hoenshell (Beth), and Jeffrey Hoenshell (Jennifer), his sisters Jeannine Bleicher, and Janet Butler, his four grandchildren, Nick and Josh Hoenshell, and Shelby and Wil McKeon. George served honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1957 to 1960. From 1970 to 1986, he was employed as shop foreman for Goldman Gear and Machine Works in Tempe. Due to an illness, George retired in 1993 from Jacobs Service in Payson. AZ. Retirement enabled him to pursue his greatest passions, airplanes and his love of the outdoors. He completed his certification as an Aircraft and Powerplant Mechanic from Mesa Community College. This led to a career as an aircraft mechanic on Alaska bush planes. George's sparkling eyes and gentle smile will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 13th, at 10:00 am at Scottsdale Family Church, 9400 E. Mountain View, Scottsdale, AZ. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Barrow Neurological Foundation, 350 W. Thomas Rd., Phx., Az. 85013 or Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St. Phx., AZ. 85014
