RASCOE, Sammy Gordon


Rascoe, Sammy Gordon Sammy Gordon Rascoe, Born July 27, 1946 in Childress, Texas and passed away gently as he slept the morning of December 10, 2003 in Milford, Michigan where he was employed by General Motors Corporation. His pain is gone, his body rests quietly, his soul is now free. Sam is survived by a son, Lance Rascoe of Florida, a daughter, Tiffany Horne of Colorado and six grandchildren. Sam's mother, two brothers, and two sisters reside in Texas and one sister, Katherine Denton, resides in Queen Creek, Arizona. Sam worked for Berge Ford when he came to Arizona in 1972 and then was employed at GM Desert Proving Grounds for almost twenty years. He was transferred to Michigan to finish his career with GM when the closure of GMDPG was announced in 2001. Sam also served with the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1970 and had a distinguished service record. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Johnson Funeral Home in Childress, Texas and funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Childress, Texas on December 16, 2003. Interment will be at the Carey, Texas Graveyard in the Rascoe Family Plot next to his father who passed away in December 1976, Sammy was a uniquely wonderful person and he is greatly missed by his family and all of his many friends in Arizona, Texas, and Michigan.
