KUDDES, William Henry


Kuddes, William Henry William Henry Kuddes was born June 11, 1940 in Montezuma, Kansas, and died at his home in Ahwatukee, Arizona, on December 7, 2003. His parents were Fred M. and Anna Kuddes. He married Shirley Patee in Pratt, Kansas in 1962 and Elizabeth Been in 1996. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Been; sons, Kent of Allen TX, Kevin of College Station TX, Michael of Chandler, AZ; stepson, Bob Been of Prescott AZ; daughters, Dena Kuddes of Chandler, Debbie Ostrander of Chandler, Becky Rogaliski of Mesa; stepdaughter, Sharon Nielsen, Ruidoso NM; 7 grandchildren and 4 step grandchildren. William was preceded in death by parents, brothers Charles and Fred, Jr., sister, Evelyn and 1 grandchild, Jacob Davis. Will retired January 1, 2003 from the City of Phoenix where he was Chief Construction Inspector. During his career, Will was integral to the construction of the Bank One Ballpark, won the coveted Award for Excellence for the beautification of downtown Phoenix and worked on the construction of the Palo Verde Nuclear Plant prior to joining the City. He graduated from Ingalls High School in Kansas and worked for Kansas State Highway Dept. before moving to Arizona in 1976. Services will be held at 7:00 pm., Friday, at Melcher's Chapel of the Roses, 43 S. Stapley Drive, Mesa, with visitation from 5:00-8:00pm.
