Wallis, Trudy Le
Trudy Le Wallis was born March 25, 1962 in Fort Worth, TX. She died at Hospice of the Valley Thunderbird Unit, Glendale, AZ, December 14, 2003 at age 41, after a short but brave battle with GIST cancer. Trudy graduated from Silver High School in Silver City, NM in 1980 and attended Tyler Junior College, Tyler, TX. She served in the US Marine Corps Reserves from 1981-1984, during which time she worked for the Dallas County Sheriff's Department in Dallas, TX. Trudy moved to Phoenix in February, 1986. She began working for the Maricopa County Justice Department as a court clerk. She became the first chief clerk of the Maryvale Justice Court when it was developed in 1989. She worked there until she married James Wallis on March 17, 1994. At that time she moved to Ajo, AZ and resided there until her death. She and her husband were the proprietors of the La Siesta Motel. Trudy is survived by her husband James Wallis of Ajo. She is also survived by her son SPC. James Clifford Hunter, 19 (Tara), who is serving with the US Army in Baghdad, Iraq; daughters, Amber Michelle Hunter, 18, who is a senior at Westwind Prepatory Academy in Phoenix and Rachel Le Wallis, 8, of Ajo; grandson James Aiden Hunter (3 mos.), Phoenix; parents, Jerry and Nava Jones of Phoenix; brother, Lyle Anthony Jones (Julie), Chandler, AZ; and sisters, Skye Lynn Irion (Cliff), Riverdale, GA; Robin Renee Massengill (Dan), Silver City, NM and Hope Jennifer Glover (Kelly), Los Lunas, NM. There are also numerous other loving relatives, including cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, aunts and uncles who survive, as well as a host of friends. At Trudy's request, there will be no viewing. There will be a memorial service to celebrate her life and faith at Calvary Baptist Church in Ajo, AZ on Saturday, December 20, 2003, at 11:00 am with visitation for family and friends afterwards. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Trudy's memory be made to the Trudy Wallis Memorial Fund, Calvary Baptist Church, P.O. Box 190, Ajo, AZ 85321 or to the Hospice of the Valley - Thunderbird Unit, 13620 N. 55th Ave., Glendale, AZ 85304, designated for the fund for support of patients and their families. She trusted the Lord to take care of her and work His divine will in her life. She told her son near the end of her life, "I'm not complaining." Her goal was to be able to say with Paul, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith;" (II Timothy 4:7). She was able to do so.
