KIMES, Hazel Irene


Kimes, Hazel Irene Hazel Irene Kimes, born to James Monroe and Rosa Lee - (Wallace) Reddell in Durant, Oklahoma on January 27, 1919, passed away at her son's home in Prescott Valley on December 11, 2003. She is survived by sons Raymond Eugene Kimes and James Edward "Butch" Kimes of Phoenix; daughter Patricia Kunze of St. Paul, Nebraska; son James Allen Kimes, Jr. of Prescott Valley; sisters Billie Jean "Dockey" Hunt and Doris "Wynell" Burzynski; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband James Allen Kimes; daughters Elsie Mae Ferguson and Carol Jean Young; brother Clarence Reddell; and sister Shirley Mae "Jody" Kelly. Hazel moved from Oklahoma to Phoenix in 1932 and from Phoenix to Wittmann in 1956. She loved her home in the desert, caring for her dog Candy, feeding wild birds, and watching the beautiful sunsets. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2003, 10:00 a.m. at St. Germaine Catholic Church, 7997 East Dana Drive in Prescott Valley with visitation at 9:30 am. Graveside service will follow at Heritage Memorial Park, 12000 Redwood Lane, Dewey. Memorial contributions may be sent to YRMC Hospice or the Ladies Guild Ministry of St. Germaine Catholic Church. Sunrise Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
