Tuesday, December 16, 2003
Barbara Ware McBurnett, of Sun City West, was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on May 11, 1920. She died at home on Saturday, December 13 2003.
Barbara lived a life of caring for others; from Sunday School teacher and pianist in Nashua, New Hampshire to serving as a director of the Symphony of the West Valley for many years. For six years, she was also a director of the Del Webb Hospital Board, serving on the ethics committee. She was a member of the DAR and the Mayflower 400.
Barbara excelled as a lecturer and demonstrator of Sogetsu flower arranging. Her home was always filled with flowers, her shaded yard, filled with petunias, oleanders - and seven citrus trees. She was very proud of her three sons and encouraged them to become what they wished to be - one a pilot, one a science professor and one a music producer.
She is survived by her husband, Patrick and sons Patrick, Jr. of Incline Village, Nevada, Stephen Ware McBurnett of Belleview, Missouri and David McBurnett of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and three grandsons.
A memorial service will be held @ 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 16, at Shepherd of the Hills Methodist Church, Meeker Blvd, Sun City West, AZ.
