The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Friday, December 19, 2003 Alma Lee Green Manson, 93, of Orem, Utah died Tuesday, December 15, 2003 at Hospice of Arizona in Peoria, Arizona. She was born on June 1, 1910 in Kentucky and was the daughter of Clark B. Green and Maggie Mitchell Green. She married Robert Steubing in 1936 and he passed away in 1937. Alma attended and graduated from Middletown Hospital School of nursing in June of 1943 and in November of 1943 she joined the Navy Nurse Corps. She received the highest award for nursing activities from the Nurse's Alumna Association of Middletown School of Nursing. While on active duty, she met Donald L. Manson in Jacksonville, Florida who was also an officer on active duty in the Navy. They were married in February of 1945 and shortly thereafter were discharged and left Florida for Utah where Don was from. They settled in Utah and had two sons Robert Donald Manson and Thomas Andrew Manson. Alma did private duty nursing at Utah Valley Hospital for 30 plus years and was an avid reader and enjoyed quilting and crossword puzzles. She is survived by her son, Robert and his wife Claudia of Glendale, Arizona, also 6 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
